Mommy and Me Music Classes
Music Lessons for Toddlers.
Playtime is often talked about as if it is a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.— Mr. Rogers, T.V host of Mister Rogers Neigborhood
Little Music Makers is a Downingtown based parent (or caregiver)/child music program designed to teach toddlers about their ABCs, numbers, seasons and more through interactive music activities. We use movement, scarves, instruments and more to help children development the social, emotional and self-regulatory skills they need, whilst bonding with their family members and peers.
Each week a new theme is selected for the music class, and music is chosen based around this theme. Past themes have included: Trains, Under the Sea, Bugs and Insects and more! Music choices include a mixture of nursery rhyme classics (for example, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star), children’s music (such as C is for Cookie) and pop culture or Broadway song choices (for example Here comes the Sun by the Beatles). Each music lesson for toddlers class is 45 minutes long.
The same hello song, movement song and goodbye songs are used each week to provide a familiar structure to the music class for the attending children.
You can choose to register online from one of three 6 week music class sessions. Music lesson for toddlers registration deadlines apply. You can also pay the drop in rate and visit a kids music class if you are not ready to commit to a session or if you missed a music class registration deadline.
Attending students need to complete a waiver in order to participate. They will also receive the Little Music Makers monthly newsletter, including updates about new classes and recorded music to work on with your little one at home!
Suggested child or toddler age: 18 months-4 years
